Meet Tippy. She is not really ours. We're providing a long-term babysitting service for my friend Kurt (and his angelic mother, Ami) while he's getting through this second semester at college.
The shortened version of the story is this; Tippy is a wild kitten that Kurt worked on when he was a vet tech in Bloomington. He fell in love with her and brought her home. Since he is a college student, he is pretty busy with classes, homework, and diving so poor Tippy didn't get a lot of attention. Sydney however, loves this kitten. Whenever Kurt comes home for a long weekend or holiday, she begs to play and spend time with her.
On Sunday, Ami was teasing and telling me that Tippy told her she wants to live in Albany. While hysterical, I told her unless Chad was willing there was NO WAY I would be able to show back up at my house with an animal. I mean, isn't it enough that we have two dogs? So after Ami's hysterical phone conversation with Chad....Tippy was packed up (complete with litter box, deodorizer, and food) and together we made the trip to Albany.
SYDNEY IS ABSOLUTELY THRILLED! She squealed with delight when she saw Tippy and scooped her right off my lap and away she went. She has taken tons of pictures and videos and draws pictures of her and when she's home, little Tippy's feet don't hit the floor. It's rather adorable.
While I know Kurt might miss her, he has given Sydney an amazing gift. She knows we won't be keeping her forever but she is loving this long-term slumber party she is having with his cat. It is teaching her responsibility and she is loving being Tippy's mama. In fact, today while she was in the library for class, she looked at me and mouthed the words, "Mom, I miss Tippy." It's just too sweet. So I'm including pictures of the very adorable Tippy. While she's not ours, we are loving taking care of Kurt's cat.
