Whoo Hoo! Vegas Baby!

I'm so so so excited! Chad and I are getting ready for our trip to Las Vegas. I can't wait! We are going to stay at Treasure Island (with all the pirates, y'all!) and I know we are going to have a blast.

The Granny and Pappy will be here with the kids and they are very excited about that. I know they will have an amazing time while we are away. I doubt they will miss us much. Granny usually keeps everyone very busy.

It seems like this trip would never get here. We have been patiently waiting since Christmas. I am so ready for a break from school. Every now and then the weather will tempt us with Spring-like temperatures and make long for sunny skies and warm days. And because of that, the students are extra antsy. Everyone is ready for a break!

I know that lately my blog has been SUPER boring but soon I will have pictures GALORE of our trip to post. For now, these will have to do.

I'M SO EXCITED! I can't wait to have some time for just Chad and I. It's gonna be so fun!

I hate the flu!

I felt I needed to add a little bit to my illness blog from Sunday.

Noah woke up at midnight last night vomitting. He continued to get sick all night and all morning. Poor guy. He spent the day and night on the couch, sleeping as much as possible and sucking down tiny swallows of Sprite by mid-morning. He ate a few bites of a grilled cheese sandwich tonight around 7 p.m. (it was the only thing he wanted) and then back to the couch he went.

I spent the morning home with Noah while Chad came home and spent the afternoon. I came home from school with a tender tummy myself and haven't eaten much at all today. I do not want this garbage and I'm trying to rest as much as possible in order to keep from getting it.

Is it pathetic and wrong of me to say that I hope we get the ice that is predicted in the forecast just so we can have a day off from school to recoup from all this illness and flu in our house? I will continue to hope and keep my fingers crossed throughout the night.

I really don't want Elijah to get this and we are really hoping something happens and he doesn't. It's been several years since we have had flu like this and to be quite honest, I haven't at all missed it. Hopefully it will be over soon and life will return to normal.

Illness...GO AWAY!

It is a very quiet, very early Sunday morning. Our house is never quiet. I seriously mean that. It's NEVER quiet. Fortunately for me, I got up pretty early this morning and I am enjoying the quiet house and the sunshine that is spilling onto the quickly melting snow.

We haven't been well lately here at the May house. Illness has plagued our lives and to be quite frank....I'm ready for health!!!!

A month ago, I dealt with this horrible cough and congestion. I survived without missing any work (thanks to over the counter meds and my friend, Nyquill) but that was nothing compared to what was to come next.

Elijah came home from his last swim meet with a 101 temp. He was home the next day from school and even had to miss swim conferences because of his fever. He spent most of the weekend on the couch but was back to school on Monday. We had three uninteruppted days of health before it hit again.

Wednesday morning at 3 am, Sydney begins vomitting. I started getting sick around five and Chad started in about six thirty. All three of us were home together that day. Fun, fun, fun!

We were all back to school and work the next day but with tender tummies however, Noah had gotten my cold the week before so we weren't completely in the clear. We gave him a hot bath that night and some nighttime meds to help him sleep.

Friday, it starts up again. My throat started getting scratchy, nose plugged up, and more congestion. ARRRRRG! I'm resting and drinking my orange juice and doing all that I'm supposed to but I keep getting this crud.

I'm hoping and wishing and crossing my fingers for Spring to come soon so we can air out this house, spring clean and get healthy. I am so ready for lots of sunshine and warm Spring days.

Maybe if I start wearing my flip flops, Spring will take notice and start a bit early?!?!?! I dont' think I'll try it....yet! However, I may get desperate over the next few weeks!!! :)

As I end this, Noah has awakened and the television is roaring. My quiet morning is over. It was fun while it lasted!
